It had been very long two weeks for to deal with 3 projects which were a pitching for ESPN.com redesign, Albertson's Selection 07, and pitching the ideas for my internship final project. I had to spend all my weekend in the office because of these project. However, I've learn so much for each project in many aspects.
Pitching is always the most painful work ever, as far as I've experienced. It seems like my understanding is still right. We have a very limited time, but we have to come up with an awesome creative solution. The worst part is no one can guarantee that we will get the job. This pitching is still the same as every pitching I did.
We started with a nice creative brief full of relevant informations. Site usage, target ground, TV audience, the client goal, the client problems. The team approached the challenge from many aspects. Everyone in the team was from every part of the process. Business development, marketing, designer etc. in order to shape the re-design solution, and pitching strategy. Yes, besides wed design strategy, we needed pitching strategy too.
We defined the problems and try to solved them until we decided to simplified to IA, to bring the info that the users want to see forward, and propose a killer idea "ESPN express," a customizable navigation that will follow the users everywhere as long as the users are on the site. The widget is our killer strategy for both web design and pitching strategy.
Three designers including me started to design the homepage based on the brief and creative strategy. Finally, we combined each one approach together and finished the homepage by one of the designer.
This is my 1st design. my approach is to create the journalism feeling with transparent score board on the dynamic headline. This concept was carried on to the final homepage.

This is the final homepage with brighter color set.

For me, after handed the first draft, i moved to design user persona for the presentation. These are all my works.
